How to update DD in AMS Trex Communicator?
You may buy a new AMS Trex Communicator, but not to know how to add new device descriptions or update the library even you read the AMS Trex manual. So, this article will set forth the steps to you.
Before updating the Device Description in the AMS Trex Communicator, please assure that your AMS Trex with an easy upgrade license activated, so that it has the capability to update the device description‘s files, otherwise, you couldn’t add new DD’s in your handheld.
Unlike Hart 475 field communicator, AMS Trex communicator no longer needs to have the Easy Upgrade License to be able to update the library. And the license brings an entirely different set of values to the device.
In addition, the software (Easy Upgrade License) is called Upgrade Studio now and you can connect the AMS Trex to your AMS suite. If you don’t have the software, you can download it on Emerson’s website. In any case, communication with the software can be established using the USB port. If you have the AMS Suite you can connect using the USB and Wifi communication.
