Liquiline CM444R: Buy a Complete Four-Point Integration Plan

When several liquid-analysis measurements share one cabinet transmitter, purchasing must resolve more than the instrument price. Endress+Hauser Liquiline CM444R projects need a defined sensor schedule, an agreed signal map and a delivery scope that includes everything required to commission the measuring points. Missing one interface or installation accessory can postpone acceptance even when the main unit arrives on schedule.

Procurement brief
Series: Liquiline CM444R
Buying priorities: configured sensor inputs, cabinet integration, power-supply scope, I/O assignment and operator access.
Request the complete order code and included module list, not just a series-level quotation.

Four-Sensor Capability Is Not a Configuration List

CM444R is a DIN-rail / cabinet transmitter supporting up to four Memosens sensors. Manufacturer specifications identify IP20 protection for the transmitter and IP66 for the optional display. Compatible sensor choices support multiple liquid-analysis parameters; the exact sensor, firmware and purchased configuration must be checked together.

Do not assume that every offered unit includes four enabled inputs, every output option, a display or the required communication interface. Shared CM442R/CM444R/CM448R literature covers several models; a family maximum is not evidence of the supplied CM444R hardware. Similarly, the optional display rating does not make the transmitter suitable for unprotected outdoor installation.

Create a Measuring-Point Register Before Comparing Quotes

  • Identify each point: record the parameter, exact sensor model, cable and assembly, process conditions and measurement purpose. Separate immediately required points from future expansion.
  • Allocate the signals: identify which primary values, temperatures and diagnostic states must reach the PLC or DCS. Match them to actual current outputs or the selected digital interface.
  • Document operating functions: specify alarms, relay duties and any cleaning or control requirements. Confirm the necessary hardware and optional functions are included.
  • Review the cabinet: check the selected device dimensions, mounting, access, environmental limits and installation clearances. Confirm power-supply requirements and whether the quoted package includes the necessary supply components.
  • Define operator access: state whether an optional display and its mounting/connection accessories are needed, and agree how configuration and maintenance will be performed.

Combining measurements can simplify purchasing, but also concentrates dependencies. Review the consequences of transmitter maintenance for all connected points. Where measurement availability is critical, the plant engineering team should decide whether separate instruments or another architecture is required.

Lead-Time Management: Track the Missing Item, Not Only the Main Unit

At quotation: ask suppliers to itemize the transmitter configuration, modules, power components, display, sensors, cables, assemblies and documents. Compare equivalent scopes. Require written clarification for omissions and alternative codes before commercial approval.

At order release: freeze the channel and I/O register. Ask whether availability refers to the exact configured unit, stock subject to prior sale or factory production. Obtain a written dispatch estimate with its assumptions and outstanding approvals. Current stock, price and lead time must be confirmed for each inquiry; no fixed availability or shipping promise is made here.

Before dispatch: reconcile every line item against the purchase order and confirm the documentation package. Identify any partial shipment clearly and assess whether it helps the project or leaves essential commissioning items outstanding.

Before the site deadline: allow time for transit, receiving inspection, cabinet wiring, control-system integration and parameter-specific commissioning. A dispatch date is not the date when four measuring points are accepted for operation.

Replacing Older Transmitters Without Hidden Engineering Changes

First verify lifecycle and service status for the existing full order code. An older instrument is not automatically discontinued, and CM444R should not be advertised as a universal direct replacement. Compare like-for-like supply, repair and an engineered upgrade against outage duration, technical fit and support requirements.

  1. Collect the baseline: nameplate, serial number, configuration records, sensor/cable models, wiring diagram, power and signal assignments.
  2. Check the sensor transition: an analog installation may need different sensors and cables for a Memosens-based system. Confirm compatibility point by point.
  3. Review mounting and electrical changes: field-mounted CM444 and cabinet-mounted CM444R are not interchangeable installation packages. Evaluate enclosure protection, power, space, output scaling and exact protocol.
  4. Plan the cutover: agree calibration or verification requirements, channel identification, diagnostic and alarm checks, and the response to an unsuccessful commissioning test. Confirm configuration-transfer compatibility rather than copying settings blindly.
Replacement rule: more channels do not prove compatibility. Approve a documented technical comparison and complete delivery scope before committing to a shutdown date.

Request a CM444R Quote Matched to Your Installation

Send CM444R, quantity, destination and required site date, with the full order code or existing nameplate. Include the measuring-point register, power, I/O, communication, display and cabinet requirements. For a replacement, include the current wiring and sensor list so the offer can identify reusable equipment, proposed changes and delivery dependencies.
